Called asking if our business accepts credit cards. We're in a regulated industry where that question is ridiculous and/or trying to rope us into something that would be illegal for us to do. They call frequently and I tell them the same thing every time, but they will not take us off their list (even though if they'd done any screening by industry, we wouldn't be on it in the first place).
Their persistence makes me think it's actually a scam. A legit biz would have moved on by now.
I got a call today and the gentleman was very rude. He was asking info about the business and I would not give him info so he got mad. He said he was with Merchant Services we don't have this company for anything.
Citi merchant card services. Asking for info and application for business card. Very persistent, calls everyday, finally I lied and said I was on vacation, it worked for a week.
This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call registry in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by repeatedly calling even after being told to stop calling and take the number of their lists. They call offering discounted credit card processing services, but are most likely a scam based on their telemarketing techniques. They do not provide an address or phone number when asked, instead they transfer you to hold music. This is clearly a scam. Do not provide this scammer with any personal or financial information.
