Left message saying ignoring the call would result in indictment. I knew it was a scam so I called and asked them WTF kind of scam they were pulling. They hung up.it was middle eastern accent.
heavily accented man, left a message, gave a name but I couldn't understand most of it "James something"... also stated that "ignoring the call would be an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearance in front of a magistrate judge or grand jury for a federal criminal offense".... "help us to help you". phishing expedition, I am sure. I've committed no crimes, so I will not be returning the call!
Same crap here...blah blah blah, gran jury, blah blah blah deliberate intention to avoid blah. Sad to say, but if it wasn't working, nobody would be doing scams like this. Preying on the old and the dumb. I am forwarding the message to my County cyber/tele crime folks. Prolly wont do any good, but it wont hurt.
Same BS call. James Kasten was the name. Same thing, word for word. Really pissed me off that these lowlifes make a living preying on those that believe this crap.
