Got a call from this number today. Got a feeling it's either IRS scam or one of this solar company. I get minimum 5 calls a day. Blocked everyone of this. Don't even want to know who's on the other end.
559-272-1422 is a "Drone Phone." The call came in at 10:58A 4/29/15. Its purpose is to determine if you have a "live" line. Then they sell your phone number off or refer it to another division of their company. Most of these calls come in from overseas, such as India. Shortly after the call, anywhere from 10 minutes to 6 hours - usually closer to an hour, You will receive a call from another seemingly unconnected caller. They have determined if they use a caller identifier with your same area code, you are more prone to answer it. The call I received from 1-443-720-0183 identified as Sen Depot, at 1:20 p 4/28/15 PST time. This caller preys on seniors. Another call came in from 701-253-0050 at 10:58 A pst time on 4/25/15, soliciting for alarm sales and that they are in the area today... The 559-272-3821 "Drone Phone" called at 1:13A PST time 4/24/2015. Received another call from Alarm Comp 701-253-0050 11:51A PST time on 4/24/2015. Another call from Sen Depot, 818-964-1921 at 9:55 a PST time 4/24/15. The 559-272-3821 "Drone Phone" called at 1:19p PST time 4/23/2015. Received a call from SR Svcs 802-321-3167 at 10:41A PST time on 3/22/15, after receiving a "Drone Phone" call from 559-473-2113 at 1:54P PST on 4/18/15.
It seems to me that calling the FTC won't do any good as they receive over 100,000 complaints. What we need is to require the phone companies require deposits for each line used and if the caller ID doesn't match the number, that the number is automatically shut downand deposits are forfeited, until the caller can give a decent explanation for using the wrong ID. Then forward any that fail to respond to the FTC.
All of the 559-272 numbers that call me are from a telemarketer boiler room selling solar panels. They just keep changing the last four numbers. Some days I don't get any telemarketing calls and then a bunch call all at once and all day long. I heard that the Do Not Call List just celebrated its 10th anniversary. Yiiiipeee! It sure helped to stop all these annoying calls. LOL.
