I received an unsolicited cell call from Georgia saying I have been selected to get a $10,000 government grant. To receive the money, I can get it in one of three ways (credit card, direct deposit and cash), all I have to do is call 5593420503 in Fresno, CA.
I got a call and was told that I have a grant for $7,000! All I had to do was call (559) 342-0503 with the ID number that was provided to me. Well I called and was talking to the Lady who told me that I had to register with the Federal Reserve Bank (open an account). Well I told her that I am a FBI agent (I am not) and already had an account with the Federal Reserve Bank due to my direct deposit. would you believe she hung up on me and I did not get my $ 7,000!!!
"Ryan" said my "free grant" was $9000. When he got to the part about how I would get the money (WalMart card, Western Union, etc.) I told him it sounded like a scam I had heard about. I feel sorry for the people who get roped into making these calls. Do they know it's a scam, or are they being scammed, too?
