I have recieved 4 calls from this number today. When they call the number comes up as only a 6 digit number and is nothing like the return number that they leave in t he VM. I cannt understand what the guy is actually saying because he trys to distort his voice. I have no idea who this is or what they are wanting. Wish I did know who got my number and where from.
someone keeps calling my cell and my friends number and just now they are starting to call me at work and threatning me that I better have a lawyer and that all they can do is wish me good luck
I dont even know who they are and where they got my information.
Worried, I am 99% sure this is one of the scammers who have been calling me for over a year, each time a new number and different name. Have you ever taken out a payday loan? It's looking they they are purchasing or stealing names and info of people who have taken out a loan in the past, then calling them, making threats, pretending you have an outstanding balance and they will throw you in jail/make you appear in court tomorrow/garnish your wages immediately, blah blah blah. Here's what I do every time:
I call the number back. Before they say ANYTHING, I demand to know their name, the company, name and their mailing address. This is usually where you catch them - they start to stutter and pause and fumble for information. Then I ask what this is regarding and they usually say something to the effect of "unpaid loan" or "check fraud". Then I ask who the loan was taken out with and they NEVER, 100% OF THE TIME, give me that information. Then I tell them to send me my verification paperwork and they usually say no to that too.
You know what I do next? I call them. And call them. And call them. I play soundboards. I yell. I pretend I'm investigating them. I pretend I'm an attorney telling them to cease and decist (sp.?) contacting my client. After enough calling them, they block your number, take you off the list, and you're good for another 2-3 months before you get on another list.
I took the day off from work today and came across this website. So I started calling a bunch of these numbers just to mess with them. I pulled some pretty funny stuff. Some dudes in NY think the cops are coming for them and some lady in Washington threatened to hunt me down and hurt me.
Just eff with them back. If you don't they will start harassing you and scaring you.
