Here is what to do if you get a call from Rich/Daniel or Tonya Chadwick all from the same number 559-475-6828 (California #) supposedly from "Clark Law Firm" an attorney's office (background noise sounded a lot like a call center to be honest).
Stated that I committed fraud and a warrant for my arrest would be issued by noon. Tonya Chadwick (aka Clark Law Firm) said that she would not talk to my attorney. They are the fraudsters! Associated with NCW Billing; a real company in NYC. Tonya Chadwick said that no arrest warrant would be issued if paid by 3pm. When Tonya was questioned about the previous statements/warnings about my arrest warrant currently being issued before noon, Tonya simply stated that it was being worked on by the DA. The threat to submit an arrest warrant is a scare tactic to get you to pay them immediately, before you seek real help.
A real attorney responded to my concern saying: “That sounds like an untruthful statement; they cannot issue a warrant for your arrest from another state.” You can look-up outstanding warrants for arrest through law enforcement websites in your local area if you really want to know, but this is a pure scam to get you to pay them immediately while they have you concerned by their threat and story they made up about you.
Nothing they say is truthful, do not answer them with anything other than: “I do not know what you are talking about.” Request a letter of this information of what you allegedly did wrong to be sent via email. And then move on from these fraudsters; they are wasting your time. Tonya Chadwick said that an email would be received within 24 hours, no email was ever sent. Make sure you request a letter, on their letterhead, stating who they represent also.
IMPORTANT: Get Real Help. Report this to the Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#&panel1-1 immediately, and talk to a consumer counselor at 877-382-4357. They will ask you how much money you paid these fraudsters, so don’t fall into their trap by believing any of their information or threats please.
This is a real scam to scare a previous victim of a different scam or "program" they were involved with in the past, using that information to convince you that you committed fraud somehow. Submit a Fraud Alert yourself to the 3 Credit Bureaus by calling 1-800-525-6285, select option #1. If in doubt about any of this information that I am reporting, go to the ftc.gov/ and get this information for yourself. Just get real help. Call a consumer counselor at the Federal Trade Commission by calling 877-382-4357. Bottom line: You did nothing wrong.
Just Ignore It: The problem with this is that they can and will contact others you know in order to get your attention if you have missed their call, so this makes it difficult to ignore them. Of course they do not leave messages on a recorded device such as your answering machine, just threats when you or someone answers.
Chris they called my cell phone I didn't answer the phone cause I didn't recognize the number and Tonya left me a message on my voice mail, I called them back after they tried calling my family members and I talked to the same people you mentioned the so called attorney even told me my case had already gone in front of a judge and my bond was set at $25,000. Then they said since I didn't have a record we could resolve this over the phone I said no . I did call the Federal Trade Center and filed a complaint about this number and who I talked to.
My daughter got this call referring to her dad she sent me the number so i called and was told the same thing i had to pay by 3 or warrants were going to be issued i said ok and was told it had to be paid at walmart with express money services. After i hung up i called the DA's office to verify it and nothing was found.
She refused to give me any information where I could follow up on this myself. Claimed that official paperwork had been sent but when I called the both our local sheriff department and court, they had absolutely no information and had never sent anything out.
She couldn't tell me anything about where it originated and wanted me to give money by 1pm to avoid being arrested on fraud charges.
I just got a call from the same Tayna Chadwick from this number who also threatened me with arrest and when I asked for proof of what I owed her or who she was representing since I had no idea what she was talking about She told me good luck with my time in jail.
