Grant Mercantile Agency: collecting a microscopic medical debt (less than $70) and being real pains in the rear about it. A machine calls you and then asks you to wait for THEM, and they friggin' don't tell you who is calling for about the first 5 minutes of the call... they're lucky I didn't hang up then.
They could provide me with no information about the debt except the visit date. I had to call the hospital to verify that the debts were real and mine. I also learned I am able to pay the hospital directly. When Grant called back today, they tried to tell me I could NOT bypass the agency to pay the hospital. I re-explained myself and hung up. They are all incredibly rude, and border-line liars.
MY DAUGHTER JASMINE GOT A CALL FROM THIS COLLECTION AGENCY VERY RUDE PEOPLE WORKS HERE, DIDN'T WANT TO LISTEN WHY THIS HAPPEN. I MOVED TO THREE DIFFERENT LOCATIONS, NOW LIVING IN NAPA, I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT WHY DIDN'T I GET A CALL FROM THE DR'S OFFICE ABOUT MY BALANCE, ALL I KNOW IS THAT SHE GET'S A CALL FROM THE COLLECTION AGENCY. MY DAUGHTER MOVED TO NAPA AND I NEVER GOT A BILL FOR HER OTHERWISE, I WOULD OF PAID FOR IT. SHE TRIED TO EXPLAINED AND ALL THEY WANT IS THEIR MONEY. THE COLLECTION AGENCY DO NOT CARE FOR PEOPLE. MY DAUGHTER WAS IN TEARS TALKING TO THEM. I HAVE WORKED WITH A CREDIT BUREAU AS A COLLECTOR BEFORE, IF YOU ARE NICE TO DEBTORS, THEY MOST LIKELY TO PAY FOR IT. AND I TRY TO HELP THEM NOT TO DISCOURAGE THEM OR INTEMIDATE THEM. PUT YOURSELF IN THEIR SHOES, IF THIS HAPPEN TO YOU, WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED THIS WAY. MRS. GAETOS
Just a recorded message that is very privacy invasive if you are not the intended recipient of their call. They should not be allowed to leave confidential information on any answering machine without verifying the number first, They are just another bottom feeder collection outfit working out of a beat up old travel trailer in Oakhurst CA. Don't give them a dime!
