left a message about a 1099c being placed in my name.

they keep harassing About a 1099.. mentioned a law suite been calling me since two days ago. argued when i asked them to stop calling.

left message about 1099 - this is a SCAM!!!

I was wondering - did you find out if the 1099c is legitimate or a hoax?  I was wondering as I received the same call from the same number stating that I had received a 1099c and I looked it up.  1099c is a form you receive when a company cancells a debt and reports that cancellation to the IRS.  Basically you have to pay taxes on this debt as it is seen as income.  So now I'm really curious.  Did anyone find out if this is legitimate or is this part of a scam?
