It's a scam. They called me claiming to be from a country club on Maryland but called from a Florida number. Their sales reps know nothing about the club they claim to represent and know nothing about the area either. They claim to sell advertising in a publication that gets distributed to the club members, when the comptroller at the club they claim to represent has told me personally they have no affiliation with this company and have never even heard of them. It's just another deceptive attempt to sell my business something I don't need
Claims to be from a local golf course. Want to speak to the owners, about a the business. Will not leave a message, will not state nature of the call. Most likely calling to sell bogus advertising and is not actually affiliated with the golf course.
I have a habit of stating my first name when I answer, so he said "Hi, ___" and then said that he had a really bad connection and would call me right back. Has not done so yet.
"Chrissy" also picked up on my first name greeting message and claimed to be calling "for" a local country club. Left number 888 566-9933 ext. 309. Called that number; answered by March of Dimes. I own a company in my name.
Claimed to be seeking out my services. Was specific to my industry but I could here the call center in the background. I googled the number and found these posts.
Just got a 7:45 a.m. call from this number. The guy said, "Oh, did I wake you up?" When I said yes, he replied, "I'm sorry. I'll call back later." And then he hung up on me when I asked who he was. Did a little searching around the internet, and the number is listed with a company called Coast to Coast Publishing. Several sites have complaints that they've made calls to business owners around the country claiming to be selling advertising space in golf club journals that will be distributed at local country clubs. I'm a massage therapist and unfortunately have my number listed in a national online directory, so I guess that's why I was targeted. Will be getting a Google voice # asap so as to avoid more spam/scam calls, and I'll likely call my local BBB to report this. Found a sketchy-looking website at http://coasttocoastpub.com/about.html.
