I was also skeptical about the debt collection agency. But unfortunately according to Florida Attorney General Division of Victim Services and Criminal Justice Programs as well as Florida Department of Financial Services they do exist. At least a complaint can be filed for their aggressive behavior and harassing phone calls.
Received a harrasing message from this number from someone named Anthony Roman. He said if this isn't blah blah there will be a brief pause. Then he said he is calling about a debt and that he's going to give me the benefit of the doubt! Seriously, who the hell are you??? Name of the company is Altitude Funding Assoc out of Delray Beach, FL.
I've researched and found online that this company is a scam. They started in NY and after scamming hundreds of people into investing with them, they moved their racket to FLA.
I also received 8/20/12 a call from a gentleman Anthony Roman, he said this was a recorded call and that his attempt to call has been confirmed and that he wanted to give me a chance to hear my side.
Idiot get off these forums takling about he wanted to hear my side. This is an illegal dect collerctor! They use threats of lawsuits and even arrest. These people have an F rating on the BBB and I suggest you guys that are being harrassed by them call your state attorney general office.
