Our business just got a call from this number. They claim to be AT&T, but we have a dedicated account rep. They listed the price (supposedly) that we are paying for local service and said that the price would be going down.
When I told them we had a dedicated account rep, they told me they were calling all the customers just to let them know. I don't buy it, so I hung up on them.
My question is how do they know all of our phone extensions and why would AT&T call all of their customers to tell them they're going to lower their price?

the guy who just called me was named jonathan blackwell??? he was extremely rude and when i questioned him as to why he was calling me, he asked me if i graduated high school and then TOLD me i went to Farmington Hills High class of 77!!! he asked for all of the owners of my company and when i refused to answer his questions, he became a complete [***] with me! i hung up on him...
I just received a call from an AT&T customer stating they were being tricked into changing from DSL to U-verse by someone calling from 561-665-8463. I called the number and asked if this was AT&T. The girl said she was with AT&T and needed to talk with me. I asked her to confirm the name of her company and she insisted it was AT&T. When I asked her for her AT&T employee ID number, she hung up.
I just received a call from this number - having caller ID I saw it came in as "unknown name". The girl said she was with AT&T and they wanted to set up a technician to come out and change (something). I told her if she was with AT&T they would NOT show up as a "unknown name" - but proud to show up as AT&T. She hollered and insisted she was with AT&T and kept talking over me. I told her we do not accept tele-marketers here (this is a place of business) - and she hollered that she was not a tele-marketer. I hung up. She proceeded to continue to call back, each time I hung up on her. After the fourth time I picked up the phone in mid conversation - saying that I was going to call and report this number - then I hung up. I didn't (or haven't) heard from her since. I did call AT&T and explained the situation to them....they went into their system and he said that it was NOT AT&T. The gentleman (with AT&T) said he was going to look into it...
Called from this number stating they are from at&t and they noticed that our internet was slow. I told him everything was fine and we are leaving, thanks for the call. I don't like these calls. Don't trust them.
