Received a call at 12:25 AM on 9/6/10. It woke me up but I heard the message via voice caller ID. It says you will not be charged if you accept and press "O". What an annoyance - even if it didn't cost me.
T-NETIX has a captive clientele -- it processes phone calls made by prison inmates. The company provides specialized call processing services to the phone companies that serve more than 1,400 US correctional facilities in about 40 states. T-NETIX software and systems enable carriers and prison operators to control phone use by limiting length of an inmate's call, blocking unauthorized calls, and recording calls. Pizza Hut co-founder and former T-NETIX chairman Daniel Carney previously owned about 13% of the company, which has been acquired by private equity firm H.I.G. Capital's TZ Holdings in a deal valued at nearly $69.5 million.
