FYI,
1) Don't even pick up the call ----- you are not obligated to talk to anyone on unknown phone
numbers . Surely you don't open unknown e-mail addresses, do you?
2) Just think of these calls as if they were being made by inmates at a prison. If the caller is not an inmate, then perhaps they should be
3) if it's important enough your unknown caller should leave a message
4) if you happen to answer the call and the caller is a telemarketer, or is rude or pushy just say "hang on a minute" ( don't even wait for a polite opening ), put the phone down, and later, hang up when you hear the dial tone.
TIME is the most valuable asset to telemarketers so the longer you keep them on line the more likely you will be removed from the contact list. DON'T TALK TO THEM !!! It works for me !!
Am now able to blacklist phone numbers on our Ooma system and set the system to continuously ring. See Ooma.com Blacklisting also available on Verizon
Caller ID actually said 115619104713. Robocaller, "Rachel with Cardholder Services..." one we've had lots before, despite asking to be removed from list. Message says it's "urgent" we speak with them, even though there are "no problems" with our account.
There's no classification for this, but Cardholder Services is actually a scam caller, not just a telemarketer.
I just rec'd a call from 561 910 4713, and rec'd an energetic recorded message to "reduce my interest rate" to 6.9%. when i pressed 1 to talk to a representative, I asked which credit card they are working with, they said visa/mc/discover. when i asked which card, they slipped and said "debt consolidation", and then how much I want to sign up for? when i asked one more time about "which card"? they hung up!! when i rang the number back, phone co message said "no longer in service". VERY FRUSTRATING overall. is this a nonprofit and avoids DoNotCall restrictions? or someone breaking the law? BEWARE!!!
