Answered the phone at our small business and a woman asked for a manager; receptionist said that was her (it's not, but she's played this game so many times before...). The woman said she was “a local business wanting to help local businesses” – when asked where she was located, she said Los Angeles. When asked for the name of her business and she said TransMer-something.
When I searched for this telephone number I ended up at http://www.whocalled.info/phone/1-877-265-5753, where a poster says "Company is Transmerit Merchant Services aka Merit Pay. Started by 2 fired VPs of Payment Systems Corp, Keith Olmo and George Csahiouni. Google any of these and you see nothing but scam and scum. Do not have anything to do with them."
Another person on that same page said, "they called my business several times a week, claiming to be a merchant service. very rude on phone, afgter i told them i wasnt interested they immediately called back and asked why!!!! very rude, scammers!!! - caller: 877-265-5753 and 562-206-1588."
When we pointed out we’re not local as we’re in Washington state they hung up. Blocked them, but they'll only call from another number. So sick of these scammers. Yesterday by the end of the day we had EIGHT nuisance calls like this one. It's ridiculous how much of our time they waste, especially since I will never do business with a cold caller (if I need your service, I'll call YOU),and because I'd ever do business with anyone who shows up on my Caller ID as "UNKNOWN NAME."

1-562-206-1588, was in the Caller Id, no Business name displayed. A less than professional sounding women kept repeating to speak to Owner, I told her I can help her. She is incoherent, speaking gibberish, about merchant rates will be lowered next month. I asked her to Identify her company name, and why she is calling. I told her very few credit cards are processed, and I use Intuit,. She said she is the wholesale group that is in Partnership" with my Service,.. She seemed intent on having a person come onsite and hand deliver paperwork, because emails go to spam. This lady was talking in circles. First off, this is Fraud, claiming to be associated with Quickbooks Intuit processing. Her goal was to set up a sales person to come out and switch my processing company ..I finally told her I'm not switching, Nor do you partner with Intuit, and I am not having anyone come to my office, then hung up, Next call I won't answer.
