Getting messages on home & cell about a returned item with a reference file number of 527059. I called and a Mr. Ronald Cooper or Ron Cooper got upset when I wouldn't confirm/verify the last four digits of my social security number. He said he was a mediation firm and kept asking me if I knew what it meant. Then he proceeded to insult me when I continued to ask what company he represented, who the debt collector was, etc. I requested he sent all the info via US postal service and he got angry stating that is not how business works. I replied that under the Fair Credit and Debt Collection Act that, yes, he has to send me information that I can verify if the debt is real or bogus. He continued to get very angry-hostile if you will- and stated that he was terminating the phone cal and any action that occurs next is my fault. I replied that I request he send all the info to my mailing address and I will contact them once I can verify that they are legitimate. He hung up before I could finish my sentence.
