Number was 562-297-0509. Dept of Legal Affairs at first I thought he said Dept Naval Affairs. How is someone supposed to proceed? Get an unlisted number? File a police complaint? Do they go away if you don't call back?
We got a call today from 562-297-0509 He said he was from Department of Legal Affairs and to have a retained attorney call this phone number back. The caller (heavy accent) was identified as Adam Walker. Then said that he was from the Department of Treasury and that the police came to my house 10 days ago. When we said we didn't believe him, he said that we would be arrested in 45 minutes. Called the number back and then (same voice) said that his name was Jordan Miller Beware of these calls! Plus the IRS never will call you before sending paperwork.
They just called my house and wanted to speak to my wife, who wasn't home. She said her name was Carrie Baker and said similar things. That I was to get an attorney, and she wanted my wife to call her, and that she was facing legal consequences. I googled the number and found what you had written. What exactly is the "scam?" Do they expect that we will give them credit card info or something? I was very upset, and was not friendly with her. Then I called the number back and a different woman answered, also saying that she was from the department of treasury. When I began telling her about the phone call she hung up. What are they trying to do?
I also received a call from "Adam Walker" with a very heavy accent telling me to call back with my attorney. I called the phone number he gave (562-297-0509) and no one answered. I did a look up of the phone number and it said it was from "Check In Report" from Los Angeles.
Also received a call from Carlos Warner. Last week my machine cut him off, I called the next day and the line was busy. He left a full message. I filed a complaint with the FTC.
