This company continues to call for my employee at different extensions claiming they are going to serve her with legal documents. This is so very inappropriate. We want them stopped!
Keeps calling from private number stating that they have legal documents to serve me that I need to call the above number. I never call it. And I'm not going to either . No one calls to serve legal papers.

Calls like this are made by criminals masquerading as debt collectors. They hope to embarrass the individual into paying them an extortion fee, and then once that happens they will try again and again and will sell that name as an easy mark. The best course of action to to let them know that you are aware of the relevant laws and will not pay them one red cent.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
