A Guy with an indian accent said he was from the irs requesting my social security number , if he was from the irs he would have already known this. They tell you that if you dont cooperate you will be arrested in the next 72 hours....
I received a IRS time sensitive phone call from Officer John Parker twice today on my cell phone to call 567-258-0263 to call back or have my attorney call back. I would like to report this phone call as totally bogus. When I called the number back received a busy signal.
There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.
