800notes.com is an information site only with information provided by other consumers. They can't help you with stopping the calls. Typically, these callers are scammers and aren't scared of the Do Not Call laws as they are located in places where they can't be easily found by law enforcement.
There are computer programs designed for disguising the caller ID info and of course you've got the automated calling programs being sold to businesses. Internet searches are so informative, but some of these scams have been in operation for years. The phone companies have a trap and trace program but the calls have to be threatening I think. So most of us are stuck ignoring the calls as the best line of defense. If it's legit, important, they will send you a letter or friends will call you, right?
