I received call from officer john Peterson telling me he has a law suit against me. He wanted my social security number. I told him no. Hr became upset .I hung up on him.
I called Scranten PA police Department and ask to speak to Officer John Peterson. I was informed that no one by that name works for the police department. I explained what happened I was informed there is no one by that name employed there.
Initial greeting went poorly. Could barely hear whoever it was. Likely a male. Stated for a second time, "Good morning, how can I help you?" * A mumbled "How are you" came across - as if I was to recognize the voice of a casual friend. I stated, "I can barely hear whoever is on the other end, come ahead." Reply came back "HOW-ARE-YOU", very slowly. My reply established a firm tone of who was in control, "I said I couldn't hear you, not that I couldn't understand you. You weren't speaking so fast that I needed you to slow down. I'm not retarded. I don't know whether or not you are, but hopefully not. I simply said that I couldn't hear you. You just needed to speak up!"
The final reply from the caller was slightly less professional, with a rant of "F*** Y**, M*****F*****! Suck my c***!"
He likely didn't enjoy my chuckle and a follow up of, "That's the best you can do?"
*...awkward pause...
Then a muffled click of the phone hanging up.
It's great when an unexpected opportunity to ruffle the feathers of a fraudster happens so naturally. Maybe, just maybe, this can be a tiny bit of retribution for all the bothersome calls he's given to others.
