Person said I was getting phone service from Verizon but was getting billed by another company. Said he was from Verizon. I'm already with Verizon, so he hung up.
I got a call from this number and then got an instant hang up. I tried to call it from my cell phone and the same thing happened. This seems pretty fishy to me.
Our company got a call from a woman today at 0946 hrs from this number. She claimed she was calling on behalf of Verizon and asked if whether or not we were already with Verizon. I asked her, "If you were from Verizon, you'd already know that, wouldn't you?" She claimed she was with a call center (in Wisconsin) and that she doesn't get that information on her screen, that she calls people all day to try to 'win back' people who were fomerly with Verizon and, if they were with Verizon already, to offer a "great" business package deal. When I asked about the price, she started asking how many lines we have, whether we have internet, and television service. I got squirrelly again and said, "So, if I called Verizon they'd know who you are?" She told me, no, they wouldn't know her. (That's when she explained the whole call-center thing.) She told me if I wasn't interested that she wouldn't take up any of more of my time. She was very pleasant the entire time. Still seems weird but with companies outsourcing such things all the time, it may have been legit but I wasn't taking chances.
I got a call from this number. A man asked to speak to the person in charge of telephone service for the business. I said "What business? This a a residence jerk!" He hung up.
