got a call from the phone number, never introduced himself or the name of his company. wanted me to switch to their service (providing the initial electric) without even offering a quote. When I said no, then asked what company he was with, he said--what do you care? Youre not switching to us, so what difference does it make to you? I asked him again what company he worked for, and he said PPL. He was notably upset, and told me this conversation was a waste of time.
Some guy makes cold calls into a private residence, to push some goods or services you know nothing about, and when you tell him to buzz off, he whines that "this conversation is a waste of time"????? Incredible.
This guy is probably working from home, trying to drum up business for one of the fly-by-night "electrical generation" outfits that have been inflicted on us by electrical "deregulation." All done for the special interests, though the clowns in the legislatures will swear up and down that they are doing it for "the people." If the consequences to the people were not so awful, we could laugh at the spectacle.
It seems some Pennsylvania state board of something or other, working, as all these boards do, for special interests, has made a regulation that PPL must stop pricing their energy the way they have been pricing it, which is an advantage to the consumer, and now starting this summer, they must price it in such a way that those of us who did not switch to one of the newly created companies will be forced to pay a whole lot more. This is to force the rather substantial proportion of us who have so far declined, to participate in what was an obnoxious development, this "deregulation" garbage.
