Yeah, that's not going to happen. By pressing "1" you've just recorded your phone number on a sucker list, so the calls should increase. They got you to talk to them -- you're potentially worth a lot of money to them now. And these particular scammers use throwaway numbers, so blocking them just causes them to use a different number to keep calling back. Sorry to say, but by pressing 1 and talking to them, you should expect a lot more of these from many different numbers from now on. They will keep hounding you until they get your banking info.

Most cell phones have a way to block phone numbers. You do not need to go thru the carrier. In my iPhone I go to the number that called me and tap info and then swipe up the page and at the bottom is a question asking if you want to block this caller. Done. No more calls from that number.
