When a northern energy supplier calls a southern territory covered exclusively by another corp. it cannot be legit. But will leave you to draw your own conclusions in this age of landline/fax/ computer hackers, spoofers, pfishers, identity thieves, and other assorted scammers & fraudsters out to intrude on your privacy, piece of your pie, peace of mind or whatever. When you can't hibernate your computer or your wi-fi printer lights up after these calls and many other anomalies occur, you can't say you weren't warned. At least they are live (and not the robo-calls soon to be outlawed). But even the live intruders don't always reply when you answer or pick up when you call them back (assuming it's even an active number. Most aren't.) Then you're left to speculate which family member ticked off somebody as a respondent to a political survey, or called out an obvious scam artist, fake IRS agent. Or worse things like controversial blogs that expose truths (or fallacies) better left ignored... Maybe the TM is an inhumane person w/ a criminal bent that goes out of the bounds of decency in our "civilized" society... Regardless, in sufficient quantities it becomes abusive harassment to a Do Not Call registrant that all but charities & surveyors are forbidden to contact. Some DNC registrants have special needs, aged/infirm, terminally ill or other diseases like anxiety disorders that can do without the aggravation. Tygercat's reply is unusual and rather a rarity on an otherwise one-populated site. Can we be sure they are not one of "them"? Whoever "they" are... (Unless it's another moderator w/ an "axe to grind"...)
Um, what? All I did was say "we" don't know who the caller is because the original poster stated "we" do. How would "we" know? And why was my response "a rarity"?
And no, I'm not a moderator with an "axe to grind". I'm simply a person with a logical question.
