I Had property for sale by owner.got several calls similar to above saying they were calling for their boss who is interested in buying my property. I never picked phone up as i screen all calls.Definately a scam! My add was on trulia...
I received a message on my answering machine saying that she (Alex) was calling on behalf of Glenn Miller. Mr. Miller was interested in buying the house I have listed on forsalebyowner.com. She had an accent (Indian?) but left a local number. I called it back to an advertisement for Magic Jack that also said that that number had not yet been assigned to a customer. My phone's caller ID said Global Publishi(g). A Google search showed a "scam" company out of Jacksonville Fl. Reviews say that someone calls on behalf of their "boss." Then they want to know if the property owner will finance/hold the mortgage. Then I suppose someone will live in your house and default on the loan. Good luck getting them out. Don't answer their calls. Unfortunately, they will spoof a local number in your area.
Same exact thing happened to me today!! woman called me and left a message I called back and it was an advertisement for magic jack. Then they called next day and I answered and it was a guy. Same name Alex! I asked how many alex's do they have working there hahahah! I played a long for a few then said this was fun but I have to go now. except instead of Glenn Miller it was Steve Clip as their boss LOL!
