a company called loan depot, they conduct phone 'phishing' so they call and hang up without leaving a message, then answer the phone when you call to figure out who is calling you. this way they don't spend money on the calls (if they hang up before it "connect" - usually a couple of seconds) AND they KNOW that a live body is calling them when you call them back. When you call, they apologize profusely for "problems with our call system, we're trying to get it fixed". Don't buy it, its a scam...smart, but still a cheezy way to do business.
anyone know who this is? Receiving calls constantly on my cell and no message is ever left. Assume if it someone who knows me they would leave a message, they don't.

Yeah, i did inquire online about some refi options, and i do think this company is an actual company. That assumed, they called over a month after i was considering a refi (reputable lenders like TDBank called within a few days and did not call multiple times). They bounced back and forth between my cell and work numbers, never leaving a message. When i asked them to stop calling, they wouldn't take no for an answer. The conversation got very high pressure sales at that point, and their rep became just flat out rude. Even if this was a real company, who'd buy a mortgage from them. Don't call them back and hopefully they'll go away. We'll see if my (repeated) requests to get them to stop ever do get them to stop.
