Do not answer any calls if you don't recognize the number. Legitimate business does not just call and threaten citizens.
There are lots of loosers out there. Has nothing better to do, besides scamming people. They need to get a real job.
Perhaps, they just need to be locked behind bars.
Just got the same call - very convincing and threatening. Claimed a no bail arrest warrant had been issued and gave a case #. Called the number they left and spoke to a purported IRS employee for around 15 minutes. By the end of the conversation it was apparent things didn't add up - told him I was calling police and he got off in a hurry
Got a similar phone call multiple times from various numbers. It is a VoIP phone number through Bandwith.com. I would:
1. Go to bandwidth.com and file a complaint. They know who actually owns the number.
2. Go to the FCC and IRS websites to file a fraud complaint. They are on to these guys.
I would also not answer if you do not know the phone number or name that appears. I have reported other numbers to the IRS and the caller group keeps changing numbers.
