I receive calls from this number multiple times a day (on my cell). This has been going on for weeks. They never leave a message. I finally started answering and there is no one on the other end. I have held the line open for minutes before but if there is a robo-call message that's supposed to kick in, it never does.
We have seen this before as this scammer uses local numbers always around dinner time---we block them routinely. If you don't know the number don't pick up.
We cannot stop them but you can. Get a call blocking device/telephone. There are many of them out there starting around $40 or so and available at many places locally and online. Or get an app for your smart phone. In the meanwhile do not answer call you don't know and do not call them back.
Call back gets "You have reached (garbled name) services. We place calls on behalf of many political and non profit organizations." It goes on to tell you to press 9 to be removed from their calling list. Don't know if that will actually work but keep in mind, that if they do remove you from THAT calling list, there's no guarantee you won't be on additional calling lists.
