Craigslist scammer. gift for son/oceanographer going away/arrange for pickup bullschitt
i get this same crap from different #s every few days. you'd think theyd switch it up sometimes. jeez.
got the same text/story from this number he wants to buy it for his son but he is an oceanographer and has a contract that starts tomorrow and lives far away from where i am.....i just told him if you cant meet face to face you are a scammer....this guys a dork.
More likely - scammer pretending to be deaf so you won't hear his African or Indian accent.
The way the scam works, the buyer pays your asking price plus extra for a shipper he selected. You deposit his payment, then wire the excess to his shipper. His payment is fake, but you don't learn that until later. The scammer and the shipper vanish and cannot be found. They split the shipping fee you sent.
