I have been receiving this same call for 4 weeks. I called them back, ripped them off obscenities (A few Hail Mary's for that one, sorry - I think about 5 of them) for trying to rip off innocent people that will fall for this and they repeated the obscenities back. Really, you're the IRS!!! Now he's in a bad mood!!!! Really, ripping off people is not worse, "You thieves"!!! Try Hail Mary's for that one, burn in hell (and again, some more Hail's...THEY ARE NOT THE IRS AND DON'T FALL FOR IT
My 87 year old mother received a recorded message from this number this morning stating, "The reason for this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 573-276-8225. I repeat 573-276-8225. Thank you."
Going to be hard to collect $$ from an elderly lady receiving only social security and a small pension....lol. Luckily, my mom is a very savvy lady and didn't take the bait.

I just got a message about being sued by the IRS. The IRS does not sue anyone. They simply freeze your assets and expect payments. IRS never makes an initial contact via phone, and it is always done by mail first.
