My sister received calls from this number. After speaking with them she quickly contacted me as I am an attorney. It's a debt collector misrepresenting themselves and practicing illegal debt collection tactics. Do not verify the debt, instead request written debt validation via mail. They are required to provide this by law. If they refuse to send the debt validation correspondence for ANY REASON, they must cease debt collection activities. If they do not cease debt collection activities you have a right to sue the debt collector! How's that for vindication? Most of these debt collectors use fake business names, numbers and websites though so it may be difficult to track them down on your own. DO NOT MAKE ANY ARRANGEMENTS ON THE DEBT or PROVIDE ANY FINANCIAL INFORMATION NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU! Despite there illegal scare tactics, it is not illegal to default on unsecured debt i.e. credit cards. You will not be arrested or sent to jail either. Additionally, government officials including Judges, Prosecutors and Sheriffs will not contact you by phone. A legitimate law firm will send all correspondences via certified mail to try to resolve the debt PRIOR to suing. Lastly, you will never receive a call warning you that you are being served - it defeats the point. If you are contacted by this company or any one practicing similar tactics file complaints with the FTC, BBB, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and your local Attorney General.

I, too, received that call just today. Same type of message. A courier to be visiting me to serve me papers, as well. A number was given to call back to give info to.... 888-240-0201.
I checked on that, and it is a spam number, too.
