caller from windows technical support and that a place in Malaysia has hacked my windows email. Told the man I did not know what he was talking about and he had to talk to my husband as he understands the workings of the computer; Said some one in Malaysia has taken over my windows email account.
Received a call from (828) 293-6112 at 1:18 PM EDT today. Since the area code is the same as mine I "foolishly" answered and an Indian (Country of India) woman started to babble at me. I hung up. Then at 1:43 PM EDT the phone rang from (573) 468-6458 "UNKNOWN CALLER". I did not answer and do not have an answer machine. However, I do believe these 2 calls are related.
Caller number showed 573-468-6458. Sounded like a call center, as there was a lot of background chatter, and it was very difficult to understand/hear speaker, but they claimed to be from Windows Technical Support. I answered from a place of business, and they asked if I had a computer at home, if I was in front of the computer. I asked who they were trying to reach. Apparently, we couldn't understand each other, and figuring it was a scam anyway, I hung up.
