Tell them ANY number and they'll say "We can do better... Just send us your last statement and block your merchant # off"
Tell them that you don't want to send them docs and they'll call over and over trying to convince you they can't do anything with the numbers but they need to see exact numbers.

They call Australian businesses claiming to be on behalf of Telstra. They will tell you your next bill will have new discounts and will be from a smaller Telco working for telstra and send you a bill to pay. Can't remember exactly the name she said. Telco something.
If it sounds like an Indian I usually hang up anyway.
Contact Telstra on 1800 805 996 to report hoax calls and they will shut it down. I feel sorry for the people that have been tricked.
