So apparently this number is more than likely from a scammer that's in the same office as an "Andrew Mason" who refused to identify the company he works for. Mr. Mason calls from a 5852706675 number.
Anyway, this gentleman who refuses to give his name on my voicemail says that he recieved a complaint about a "malicious intent to defraud" and that I need to contact "this office" in hopes to settle this claim. Ladies and gentlemen, I am here to tell you that this is 100% a scam. I am a law enforcement officer and if there was a criminal complaint the you would be contacted either A) by a law office and said law office would give you their name, address, phone number,etc. or B) the respective police dept. or sheriff's office where the offense was committed.
These turds get your information from numerous ways: they buy and sell debts that may or many not be valid and if they have your name and address they can use programs such as "Accurint" to contact friends and relatives. Do not give them the time; block their number and disregard what they say especially if you don't recognize the debt.
FTC guidlines regarding debt collections specifically make these tactics used by "Mr. Mason" and his designee illegal. Report them if you can but DO NOT give them ANY financial information, confirm any personal information, etc.

I was just contacted by this "Andrew Mason" he called from an 844 number and said i wa sbeing indicted for a loan i had years ago. I was scared shitless so I did as he asked and set up a payment plan on my grandmother's back account. After reading the above statements i am terrified of what may happen.
Contact your grandmother's bank and tell them what happened. They can refuse to honor that automatic payment plan. Your grandmother may have to get a new account number.
Tell your grandmother and your parents what happened. You and they will get more scam calls trying to get payment for this fake debt. They need to know to ignore the calls.
