The first thing you should do is stop paying them. Cancel your existing bank accounts and get new ones and notify the bank of a possible fraud. Debt us a civil matter. Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. If these people never sent you a debt validation letter, then you should not have paid them anything or agreed to.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them
They just called me and said I got a payday loan online in 2011 and my bank account was First Citizen Bank Account. While they had me on hold I put the number in google and came to this site. When they got back on the phone I informed them that I knew it was a scam and not to call my phone with this bs again. She did have my name and email and wanted me to settle the debt or go to jail. After I told them not to call again she hung up.
This company called me yesterday afternoon from Oklahoma. Told me that they had "effected service of process" on me and wanted to know if my lawyers were available. I laughed and asked them a) who they are and b) why I would need a lawyer? They said that I had attempted to defraud a company and some other legal mumbo-jumbo that made absolutely no sense whatsoever. I told the gentleman that I didn't know what the heck he was talking about. He said they sent me a certified letter back in March and that the legal process had begun. I told him that I had never received a letter and then asked him who they were calling on behalf of - he said, "YNS Financial". Never heard of them.
In the end, I told him that I was very familiar with the court process in the State of California and everything he has said so far makes absolutely zero sense. I asked him to resend the letter to me and he promptly hung up. Do not be afraid of these people - they are hoping to get someone on the line who doesn't know how the world works. Advise them to never contact you again! Scammers!!
Thankful for this site. I've been getting calls from them, haven't been picking up, they leave legal convincing voice mails that there's been a complaint against me, but, I know anything legit would come in the mail. I don't know of anyone complaining about me other than my husband :-)
I got the same call, called back and they said I got a payday loan in 2011, I recorded the conversation as we spoke. I asked her for the address to the company and she gave me 3000 North Creek Dr Laton ( which she spelled incorrectly) OK 73507
I asked her for amount and she said $500.00 but that was before all the feed that had added up in 4 years. My nick name is what she had not my legal name. I finally said since I am recording this Jennifer I want the total amount due as of now! She said I did not give you permission to record me and hing up!
They called me yesterday said I owe a National Payday 1902.18 for a 500.00 loan back in July of 2012. I checked with my bank which is First Citizens they said I never had a Deposit for that amount back in July. It was a Ms. Campbell that called me today left another message for me to call them back or I would go to Jail for 5 years. Also said I did it with a Net Zero.com I haven't had Netzero in 7 years.
