This is a SCAM!!! They have contacted me and accused me of bank fraud.....(I don't even have a bank account and haven't for over 7 years) I have NEVER received a payday loan or any personal loan for that matter. They were VERY VERY disrespectful and tried getting me to tell them my Attorney's information........(Oh, they'll be getting that soon enough) when I file Extortion and harassment charges against them! This has to stop, I can't imagine how many people fall victim to these scams over and over again!!! They stumble over their words, don't know debt collection laws, try and intimidate and threaten people..........it's pathetic and won't be tolerated!!! I bet if people got together with a class-action law suit against them, they'd stop!!! Uggggh, rant over!

This number has called me twice today. When I try to find out the payday company's name they start telling me about some affidavit that was signed. They are telling me the loan was taken out in May of 2011. They told me that they are sending this information to the State of Alabama tomorrow and I will be arrested. Funny thing is I filed bankruptcy and what loans I did have were on there. They keep wanting my attorney's information. They are going to get that information when my attorney contacts them and lets them know that we will see them in court for harassing communications. I am done with this. Don't let these people scam you. I know I don't have an outstanding loan and I told them that.
They have been calling me asking about my Attorney and I owe over $1000 for a $500 payday loan. Want give me much information just that will be filing a warrant in Oregon with the States Attorney office.
They told me my loan was taken out in 2012 company name National Payday I emailed them and they have no information in their database regarding me. these people are calling me every 10 minutes leaving messages but when I call back I can barely hear them. This has got to stop.
You need to take the action to make them stop.
This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number. Now why would a “process server” want to do you, a stranger, a favor, and at the same time not get paid to deliver the papers?
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
