this jerkwad called my cell twice today about 3 hrs apart, i checked and saw this was some kind of scam artist calling from ny. dont answer or call back this number. what an idiot.
Call ID says on "Rochester NY" so it is questionable from the start. A very poor connection and strong Indian accent made it too hard to understand who they claimed to be. After a few attempts, all I could get was "US .... Department" then he hung up when I asked for more information. A call back to the number was answered by an Hispanic accented individual who identified himself as "Miguel" the company as "Degree Match" which is based on Rochester, NY, so the number may be spoofed, or they may have more than one scam going...
Someone with an Indian accent asked for me by name (but mispronounced it) and claimed to be Benjamin Carter calling from the US Department of Education. I asked him what the call was about and he said education is important and then the lone went dead. I'm retired and have no children so this kind of call is useless to me. As it says above, since there caller ID does not name the company, and the accent does not really match the name, I think it is a scam.

This number has been calling me all week. I never answer because I do NOT know anyone in Rochester, NY!! Well I finally picked up a minute ago but didn't say anything to see if they were gonna say anything......they hung up. Then I googled the number & found this page. The next time they call, I'm gonna answer answer with 'This call is being recorded. Do not call my number ever again!' Maybe then they'll stop pestering me.
