I've been getting calls from 586-630-3759 for about a week now at various times of the day. The recording states "You have a collect call from Macomb County Jail from..... Then a second voice, presumably a name recorded by a female caller speaks and says something mumbled like "Tina" or "T&L." Then regular recording pipes back in and asks if I'll accept the charges, etc...
What's funny is: The girl who recorded her name as "Tina" or "T&L" whatever she says, which I can't make out, even after 10 phone calls or more in the last week, it is the EXACT SAME RECORDING every time, which leads me to believe this is a scam.
A friend mentioned it and an above poster states the same: Accept the call and I'll have crazy fees on my phone bill. I am even reluctant to press the "OPT OUT" number, for fear I'll still be charged, so I just keep ignoring the calls.
I'm getting the calls on my cell, which is a 586-770 AT&T exchange, if that helps further identify who's being targeted.
I have gotten 50+ calls from this number. It is from the "Macomb County Jail" and is a person who I have never heard of. It tells me to press 5 to answer the call, 9 to block it, and END to refuse the call. I have tried the 9, but that did not work. I ignore it and they call back 5 times in a row before giving up. When I refuse it, it calls me back within minutes. I will NOT hit 5 as I do not want to talk to them. Please get this number deleted. They deserve to be in jail.
I got the call. It was from someone I knew, very happy I accepted it. The First call was free, after is when they ask for information if you want to recieve more calls.
