They keep calling me as well, i looked it up on whitepages.com to see where it originates from. Its in New Baltimore MI and its near Selfridge Air Base. Its a VOIP ( voice over IP ) phone line which more than likely is a spammer/advertiser or collection agency. I wont answer strange phone calls and these guys never leave a voicemail which makes it even more fishy. If its that important, they would leave one!
PS: If you ever get strange calls, go to whitepages.com and do a reverse phone lookup, they will let you know if it is spam or not, and/or the location and possible name of business/people!
They just called me this morning asking for my 16 year old son, who was in school. Seems there was a medical debt for surgery he had last year and we are just now finding out about it. The guy didn't like being told that we had never been advised of the debt and because I wouldn't just pay him, he threatened that it would be going on my credit report even though he had nothing more than my first name (which I gave during the call) and my phone number. I asked how that was possible when someone obviously made an error putting the account in my minor son's name and they didn't have any of my information other than my phone number. I told him to send me proof of the debt and he said they already had but they'd do it again and he also said they would never put anything on a minor's credit report. I reminded him that he didn't know my son was a minor until just now. He got very frustrated with me and said he'd send proof and hung up!
So now I have to go check my son's credit report and wait and see if this is legitimate. Fun times!
