We just changed our landline phone number to an unlisted number due to receiving calls from another collection agency.
In our limited circle of family and friends, they are all listed on my phone directory as well as some business #'s. Thus when we see an unknown number, we used to answer but was besieged by Duct Cleaning, Silicone Sally offering to reduce our credit card interest, and a collection agency called Action Management. Unfortunately, I answered, and following a couple phone calls, we suspected, researched and found Action was a scam. Hence the change. Now, I do not answer any call that I don't recognize. If it is someone knew, I have voice mail. However, last week, I saw one of these unknowns leave a voice mail. And it was a recorded message from Global Collections. Last night they called again as I checked the number this morning to find out, it was Global Collections. I swear, it was a different number......
