I received an email from Shawn Harrison listing this number as a contact.  The email is for a scam job position, as follows:

Got an email from Richard Mclain about a potential job.  Sounds promising, but all searches related to the company yield information about the company's failure 2-3 years ago.  No recent information can be found.  Additionally, this same number was listed to a Linkshare Corporation (could be the same company, but I don't know).

The best form of payment used are business checks and direct bank transfers they are readily available and confirmed on the spot, they are not the only means used but they are the best for our process. Most of the buyers we work with are those we've previously handled successful transactions with in the past, new buyers are verified and confirmed before the linking process occurs. You have nothing to worry about. The mode of operation is as follows; you receive the payment directly from the individual buyer, in your mail, usually via ups and have them cashed. You send the payment to our suppliers/vendors when I need you to, or directly to the company and your pay is 10% of the amount sent to you.  All charges during cashing, sending of payments and transaction completion will be deducted from the balance after you have deducted your pay and not deducted from your own money so your pay is fixed on the amount cashed per transaction. You can handle as many as 3 or more transactions per week, but you'll be handling one (1) initially to see how efficiently and how quickly you can carry out the completion.

On 3 transactions you're sure of nothing less than $600 weekly. The hours are flexible and you can decide when you want to work as what you'll be doing initially is cashing the payments and completing the transaction to the supplier. I don't need you online 24/7, just to be online on a daily basis and at least check your e-mail regularly. Working with me will also not disturb your other jobs, (If you have any) as I require that applicant only have easy access to the internet, be reachable easily and respond/carry out instructions sent as soon as possible.

Received an email on my private university email account telling me that I was selected for a job opening.  They didn't include any personal information or any information about the "company". The name left was generic and a search yielded nothing, this is the phone number that was listed underneath the name.

While there is a company with that name, this is a fake job listing. These people here are money launderers. Think about the verbiage used here - an attempt at proper syntax that is grammatically flawed. Why would you 'need someone' to handle transactions and payments when large companies have 100's of people; accountants to do it. Avoid these...

Over the course of a few days I received the following email from three different companies:

First I realized something was wrong when over the course of a few days I received three emails from different companies with exact message containing same errors.  The only difference was the contact name changed but the number remained the same.

Second why would I want to work for a company that does not proofread emails before sending them?

Third, this company does not give any information regarding what position they are considering you for.  

Fourth, the emails come from hotmail and live.com accounts.  For the most part legit companies have their own domain.  For example: [email protected]
