Received text from this telephone number requesting my email address to buy products from my home-based business. The same business is in Canada. Advised through text message to seek out someone in Canada and not to text again. It sounds like a SCAM that has been going around lately.
Received the same, this Amanda Johnson, contacted me wanting to purcharse Mary Kay beauty products. Said that she obtained my information frmo teh MK website (which I am listed on there). She placed her order, stated she was deaf and does not have credit cards, stated that her boss was mailing me a certified check and that once I receive it to send the product. Fine, of course I would confirm the check clears. The next day she contacts me to state hoe worried she was because her boss sent me too much money, she doesn't know if she can trust me to return the difference with her product. I was already suspicious so googled the details that were given to me which led me here.

I received a similar text message regarding product that I sell. I am not listed as a seller anywhere though. A few days before I received the text message, my house was broken into and my personal planner was stolen. Sitting next to my planner was the product that I sell, the very same product the number was requesting. Along with the product, they were requesting my email even after I told them we could do the transaction over text or over the phone. My suspicion is that the people that broke into my house have the passwords to my accounts and email but not my actual email address. Now they are trying to pose as potential clients in order to gain access to my email and subsequently my accounts. BEWARE!
