Filled out an entry form at the Chicago Women's Expo for what I thought was sponsored by the Expo. A guy named Tyler of JCS started calling EVERY DAY leaving messages that I've won a fabulous prize package. All I had to do was come in to pick it up! Wow -- not. I called to demand that they remove my number from their calling lists and ended up getting a sales pitch from someone who didn't take a single breath for what seemed like 4 minutes. What I gathered: You must bring an I.D. and a major credit card. Interesting. This promotion is sponsored by Windham Vacation Resorts and they ARE trying to get you to sign up for one of their programs. If you don't meet their income requirements, you suddenly don't qualify to receive this prize you've just won. Hmmm, also interesting. So, yeah, you've been warned.
UPDATE: They are now calling me from different numbers than the one in my above post. So far it's 603-366-3015 and 603-581-2724. Let's see if there's a third, er, actually fourth. All this after I demanded they remove me from their call lists. They had warned me, that if I filled out cards or entry forms for any other businesses at the Chicago Women's Expo (almost month ago now -- stop calling!) to expect all those other booths to call me. Well, none of them did because I had asked them not to when they were right in front of my face. Those other companies turned out to be decent and respectful. JCS Enterprises, on the other hand, is like a plague of roaches or rats flying through my phone. They're the only ones from the Expo doing this. I imagine they have dozens of numbers lined up to call people from. Maybe that's why they need the business, to pay their massive phone bills.
