Most likely some sort of scam. If you call that number , the robo-greeter ID themselves as "Fidelity workforce retirement services". Then they ask for some sort of account number and if you don't have that they ask for your SS number. Absolutely do NOT give them any information. If they call you and also be sure to block this number.
They are labeling themselves on their cold calls as "Fidelity Investments".
There are extensive shill remarks mentioned on the various anti-scamming sites relative to this number. Most saying how "legitimate" this number is.
Don't be fooled; it is most likely a fishing scam of some sort!
I received this call on my cell, which is a number I only give out to people I trust. So, any unknown caller is pretty much guaranteed to be a scam at worst, or a telemarketer at best. Another site says this number is from Fidelity Investments. Even if it is legit, I don't approve of getting cold calls, and ESPECIALLY on my cell, which I consider a very private number. I block this number, and will not accept anything from Fidelity investments as punishment for using my number without my permission. I don't pay for my phones to give any company free advertising space.
Legitimate number. It is Fidelity and they do not cold-call. If you got a call you are probably linked to Fidelity in some way through work, retirement, or private. Broker's extension number does not show but this number does.
Legit. This is Fidelity workforce retirement services. 401k. I left where I was working and they called because I have a open account with them for my 401K.
