My partner had no prior business relationship with this company. When told they are violating the DNC they claim they aren't. They say they will keep calling back.
Either they are violating the DNC because she has no relationship with them whatsoever or they are masking their caller ID.
Either way this is illegal and these people are jerks.
This is a CARD SERVICES organization for (in this case) Plains Commerce Credit Bank of South Dakota. Plains Commerce Bank specializes in credit card accounts to settle past due, unpaid debts. They will lure you in with the promise of helping to restore your credit by "forgiving" some portion of a debt if you agree to take one of their cards. In a sense, this is not a bad deal EXCEPT that your interest rate will be the MAX possible allowed by law and they will never lower it no matter how well or timely you make payments. What does this mean? Well, it means you will likely NEVER have the debt paid off and you will certainly pay MORE than the original debt through their interest rate structure. *** IMPORTANT *** It should be noted that calls from this number are generally considered the "higher up" levels which means these are the people who start calling when you are in default on your account. I really do hope someone from PCB reads this and wants to refute or discuss something I've said here so call me and leave a message (yeah, right) and I'll happily call you back. Oh, and they're also nice enough to print your complete card ("account") number on your statements so hope that you're never the target of identity theft [not that PCB would care if you were].
