Answered phone and a live caller (female) asked for me by name and I affirmed that it was me. She then asked if I had debt such as credit cards or loans. I asked her why I would tell her if I had debt or not. She replied that they did loan consolidations and could consolidate my loans for me. I asked where she was calling from and she said "Stockton, California". I asked if they were not familiar with the Do Not Call List in Stockton. She said something like "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" and disconnected.
Note that although she said she was in Stockton, the caller ID showed the call coming from the 605 area code which is South Dakota (and I'm in South Dakota). So, I don't know if she lied about where she was located or the caller ID number was fake or both. Although she did speak English moderately well, there was a definite strong foreign accent like maybe eastern European. Actually, she seemed a little nervous and not the typical a-hole illegal telemarketer. Regardless of whoever or wherever the call came from it was an illegal telemarketing call and likely a scam too.
605-877-3052 Received phone call on my cell phone. Hang up Called the number back and it rang & rang with no answer. Can not identify this as a South Dakota number. My cell phone number is on the do not call list.
