Received first call from this (spoofed) number today, 03/16/2013, @ 11:59 a.m. -- little doubt that there will be more calls from the same number.   Caller ID name display read "Rapid City      SD".    I usually no longer answer calls with Caller ID showing city & state for name as they tend to be 100% spam/scam calls.    I  inadvertently answered this one and it was the same old recorded spiel that I've heard a dozen times before about seniors being provided a medical alert device & those seniors had better sign up for it immediately before they end up dieing alone.   It's the same company/tactics as described in this news item:

N.D. AG issues order against Elite Information Solutions

BISMARCK, N.D. (Legal Newsline) – North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem issued a cease and desist order on Thursday against a Florida medical alert seller and his businesses for allegedly violating state consumer fraud and do-not-call laws.

Michael Hilgar and his businesses, Elite Information Solutions Inc. and Worldwide Info Services Inc., also allegedly failed to respond to a civil investigative demand. Hilgar is the president of both companies.

Stenehjem’s office issued a civil investigative demand to Hilgar after receiving multiple complaints related to illegal telephone solicitations for medical alert systems.

“I am concerned about allegations indicating that Hilgar’s businesses are misrepresenting the cost of the medical alert devices and monitoring services they are selling, are using illegal telephone solicitations to sell them, and that they have failed to properly respond to the civil investigative demand or cooperate with the investigation,” Stenehjem said.

Hilgar’s businesses sell medical alert devices and monitoring services using telephone solicitations. Representatives of the company allegedly claim that the individual being called is selected to receive a free medical alert system, but there is actually a monthly fee for the monitoring service.

Representatives also allegedly tried to deceive consumers by claiming that the devices were affiliated with more well-known business, made unlawful telephone calls to subscribers of the do-not-call list and used spoofing technology to display a local area code on caller identification systems to make consumers think the company is located in the state.

After having receiving literally around 80 calls from this criminal outfit, it seems like a good day to form a posse, grab a rope, and head off for Orlando.

I check back about them occasionally. If you look around here, you'll find various details about the company from former call center employees. I was there 3 days, and quit after realizing someone I put on the DNC for the company got called again, multiple times, by my autodialer. This was when they were doing an energy evaluation scam. Spread this around. Try coming up with a post on reddit.com.
