Recorded call claiming to be IRS and said to call the number 606-560-0037 back because I was being sued by the IRS. I hung up before the recording ended. The number showed it to be from Beattyville, KY.
Got a recorded message saying it was my final notice and that the IRS was filing a suit against me. Said I had to return the call right away. I did, and got a foreign call center. When I asked why everyone who answers at the "IRS" has a foreign accent, I got a string of accented vulgarities. It's fun to call them back and waste their time. The result is the same--after stalling with them for as long as you can, they curse wildly when they realize you're duping them.
Just got this phone call. I know no one in Kentucky so I didn't pick up. Heard the message and said IRS was suing me.
1) irs is in Washington not Kentucky.
2) my banks are up to date and
3) I have no reason for irs to sue me!
