The very second I saw it was from Kentucky I figured it was one of those calls. My number is newer & hasn't been given out to anyone but family. When all these out of state calls come in I know it's a scam.
These calls are from phone data mining groups. It is computers calling through blocks of numbers to see which ones are being answered. They find out which numbers are good working numbers, that are answered, and then sell all the good numbers on a list to telemarketing companies to solicit to you over the phones.
If you try to call them back it either says the number isn't in service or it goes to a machine that says Outbound something and to leave a message. All Bogus!
NEVER answer calls from out of state or numbers you do not know. They can leave a message. Calls which you do not know anyone from where the call is being generated from.. Just hit reject call on all these calls. I get 5 a day and reject them all then block them as well. I recommend you do the same. Law enforcement agencies are pushing legislation with the FCC to end these types of calls by having them reject at the point of our Phone carriers.
Automated message saying IRS trying to reach me and call or a lawsuit will be filed. blah, blah blah, Too bad I can't taser the caller on the other end! ZAP!
