I received 2 calls yesterday. I had been looking up information on WebMd. Next thing I know the phone rang. I did not answer, but I just dialed the number back and chose option 1 to speak with a rep., it then played music, recording came on and said to "leave a message after the beep'. Wow, what a loud beep. Anyway, it is some sort of sales scam so I do hope this helps. Good luck, and God Bless.
Hannah called from this number exclaiming to me I had been selected for a vasectomy trial in Hong Kong, along with a two night stay at a resort in Kuala Lumpour. I asked her if I had to fly Malaysian Airlines, she said yes. So, I then declined. Scam City.
Received two calls from this number, within a minute, on 8/18/14 and "DRRECOMMENDED" is what appeared in our Caller ID. No message was left either time, so I'm guessing they redialed right after the first call. The service provider is Peerless Network out of Binghampton, NY. I did not answer the call and will not answer for any number/name we don't recognize. We've been getting about 10 - 15 of these unwanted calls per week. I used to "mess with their heads" but no longer waste my time. I used to tell them I'd get whomever they were calling for and set the phone down and leave it. For the pharmaceutical calls we were getting bombarded with for to try to sell Viagra and Cialis to my husband, I told them he had a heart attack after taking it and his heart isn't strong enough for sex anymore. Another time I told them he took that and it didn't stop working until his "thingy" turned blue and needed amputated. Even after that, they tried to sell other drugs, prescription only, which I do believe is illegal. I am aware that the "Do Not Call" registry is only effective for stopping telemarketing calls from legitimate companies/organizations. I will be filing another complaint (been using the website provided on page 1) and I'm also listing the service provider and going to suggest that in order to get these scam calls to stop, maybe they need to consider putting pressure on the service providers. Yes, I'm sure they have contracts BUT contracts can be worded in a way that informs them that misuse of the number, complaints about the number, etc. are grounds for automatic disconnection without reimbursement and start making them pay in advance. I know that's inconvenient for legitimate businesses, but they change laws now days to put a stop to anything that's offensive to someone - these calls are offensive. Stepping off my soapbox.
